Day 1 Chester
In Chester, relax in one of the many Cafes or bistros, and take in some of the sights in this interesting city full of fine historic buildings. Visit the Rows, two-tier shopping galleries which date from the Middle Ages. Near to the main shopping streets you will find Chester Cathedral, and for another slice of the past, walk down towards the River Dee and explore the Romans Amphitheatre. For a late afternoon stroll, take the steps up onto the walls and wander around the city walls – be sure to note the Eastgate Clock- the second most photographed clock in Britain after Big Ben.
Accommodation
Try our partners visitchester.com for reservation and bookings. We recommend The Grosvenor for opulence and luxury, a five star hotel right in the centre of Chester which also boasts a fantastic spa.
Day 2 Nantwich
Head south – east out of Chester to Nantwich. This picturesque and historic market town is found in the heart of the lush Cheshire countryside. For many years its fashionable shops, pubs, restaurants and places of particular historical interest have maintained its fine reputation. Nantwich used to be the centre of England’s Salt miming industry. Visit the excellent salt houses and museums which can be found in the town, nestled among the black and white buildings.
Accommodation
Stay at the Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa in Worleston near Nantwich for two nights. This magnificent Georgian mansion is set in 38 acres of gardens, wooded parkland and a meadow bordered by the River Weaver. Formerly the residence of plantation owner, William Hilton Cooke, the property dates back to 1816. This hotel is perfect for discovering Nantwich and the surrounding Upper Weaver Valley.
Day 3 Explore the Upper Weaver Valley
Whether you prefer walking along the picturesque canals and the rolling Cheshire Plains or relaxing in the village country pubs by the fire, the Upper Weaver Valley has bags of charm and plenty of picturesque scenery to enjoy your Supercar with.
In contrast the city of Chester and the market town of Nantwich, the Upper Weaver Valley offers the perfect rural escape. The pretty canals and waterways form one of Cheshire’s key attractions, providing ample opportunity to participate in a variety of recreational activities.
Don’t miss the pretty village of Audlem, 8 miles from the Rookery Hall Hotel, where you can see the Shropshire Union Canal descend into the Cheshire plain over a picturesque two mile stretch of 15 locks, providing an ideal resting place for walkers, cyclists and narrow boat cruisers alike.
Or for a more relaxing day, why not visit the rare breeds and see open air theatre in the beautiful gardens at Cholmondeley Castle. Stay overnight in Rookery Hall before enjoying the meandering drive home in your Supercar. Alternatively, Northern Supercar Hire can collect your Supercar from your final destination.
